We're expanding the Four Corners Book Club!
We had such an overwhelmingly positive response to our Four Corners Book Club launch! We love reading all your recommendations, but the feedback was unanimous: you wanted to include your non-fiction favourites too!

So, we made it happen. Due to popular demand, we’ve added non-fiction to our Four Corners Book Club library. The expanded recommendations now include travel writing, (auto)biographies, histories, and other non-fiction writing in a travel setting.

You can now search for reviews by fiction, non-fiction, or all – and when you upload your own recommendations you can specify which category your read best fits.

Elephants in my Kitchen
Camilla recommends…
An Elephant in my Kitchen, by Françoise Malby-Anthony

“Loved the easy writing style of Francoise as she described the challenges of animal conservation in South Africa. The highs and terrible lows and how it sometimes feel that poaching will never be eradicated. The joys of the elephants and how they seem so human in their reactions to life events was a heartwarming part of the story.”

Driving over lemons
Natasha recommends…
Driving over Lemons,
by Chris Stewart

“Chris Stewart’s memoir of buying a totally dilapidated farmhouse in Andalusia is one of my absolute favourites… [it’s] all about embracing a radically different way of life… Set in a tiny, isolated valley in the mountains, the book paints the most vivid picture of the landscape. You feel like you’ve walked through the olive groves, the rushing rivers and the jagged mountains.”

Abroad in Japan
Vanessa recommends…
Abroad in Japan,
by Chris Broad

“I read this book before visiting Japan this year. It is both hilarious and educational, covering ten years Chris spent in Japan as an English teacher… I gained far more insight into the country and its people than I would have done from any ordinary travel book… He is a witty and talented writer who made me laugh out loud and conveyed his affection for Japan in a unique way.”
