SPARTAN LOVE STORIES

ALICIA & KEVIN

Kevin had always been interested in Spartan, but needed a partner to push him into the deep end. “That all changed when I met Alicia,” Kevin recalls. Alicia was a fierce competitor and member of the Spartan Street Team, and offered Kevin a free race ticket. “Next thing I knew I was doing the Sprint at Castaic in the rain. It was cold, wet, muddy, and miserable and I was hooked,” Kevin says. The duo has been dating for four years, traveling the country and racing together.

JEN & GREG

Jen and Greg divorced in 2017. While Greg was in recovery for alcoholism and drug addiction, he started exercising and prioritizing his health. Meanwhile, Jen’s workout buddies invited her to race Spartan for the first time at Fenway. “After taking care of ourselves, we got back together,” Jen says. Greg joined Jen for his first Spartan event in 2019. A year later, the couple remarried! “We have an absolute blast and wouldn’t have it any other way,” Jen says. 

KATHRYN & MICHAEL

Kathryn met Michael while working out at his gym. Michael challenged his members to a race. “I was so terrified. I was unsure of my capabilities but he believed in me,” Kathryn recalls. Once she crossed the finish line, Kathryn was hooked (both on the races and on Michael!). Now Kathryn is pregnant with “our little Spartan!”
