Discovering Messini – tips from a first timer

If you’re like me and have never been to a Neilson Beach Club, been to Greece, or even considered an active holiday, let me share my incredible first-time experience!

I visited Messini Beach Club just last month and I was curious, maybe a bit unsure, but oh-so-excited to try something new. And guess what? It was an absolute blast!

This holiday was a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure, set against the stunning backdrop of Greece. The friendly staff and fellow guests made it even more special.

To help you get a feel for what it’s like, I thought I’d drop my handy tips and what to expect for your own Neilson holiday.  Hope to catch you at a Beach Club soon!

ABSOLUTELY DO:

DO take a waterproof watch – there’s plenty to do, so you’ll want to stay on top of the schedule.

DO book a massage – Niamh’s ‘Work it out’ massage was heavenly. 
DO download the Strava app – perfect for tracking those scenic bike routes.

DO unplug – I wish I had left my phone in the room more often to truly switch off.

DO catch a sunrise swim – or just watch the sunrise from the beach. Floating in the sea while the sun rises is pure magic. 

DO try a Hugo cocktail – refreshing and delicious at the bar. 

DO try mountain biking – even if you’re a road cyclist, the trails here are too good to miss.

DEFINITELY DON’T

DON’T pack toiletries – the TempleSpa products provided are fabulous, just bring toothpaste!

DON’T stress about doing it all – there’s always next year for more adventures 😉

DON’T skip the Freddo – this frozen cappuccino is a must-try at the beach bar.

DON’T miss a sea swim – the warm water is a an absolute treat!

DON’T worry about experience levels – everything is super accessible and adaptable.

DON’T skip meals – trust me, you’ll want to savour every bite.
DON’T feel anxious about trying new activities – the staff are excellent tutors and put me at ease straight away.

DON’T forget your SPF and hat – protect that skin!
