| The 80th anniversary of D-Day and The Battle of Normandy |
| Every year, we have the privilege of bringing D-Day veterans back to Normandy. On Tuesday June 4, they travelled from Portsmouth to Caen-Ouistreham (the edge of Sword Beach), accompanied by carers from the Royal British Legion and the Spirit of Normandie Trust. We thank these brave veterans for their service and are honoured to transport them so they can reflect and pay their respects to fallen comrades.
On 14 May, Galicia carried the French Freedom Flame (La Flamme de la Liberté) from Cherbourg to Portsmouth. Usually located at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, the flame pays homage to the ultimate sacrifice made by those who perished in world wars, fighting to protect the freedoms we enjoy today. |

| Fêtes Maritimes de Brest 2024 |
| We are delighted to announce our partnership with the Fêtes Maritimes de Brest from 12-17 July 2024. Taking place every four years in Brest, this is much more than just a gathering of boats. This year’s edition will break away from the image of a festival devoted entirely to maritime heritage, by showcasing diverse artistic disciplines linked one way or another to the marine world and maritime territories. Dance, music, street art, daily workshops… the programme will be rich, eclectic and open to all!
Don’t miss Carlos Núñez performing on the Friday evening on the Manche & Mer Celtique stage. He’ll be playing songs from Celtic Sea, his latest album which he created just for us and which you’ll hear played on board our ships. |
