Oedipus
Behind every great man is a great woman
On election night, with polls predicting a landslide, everything is about to change.

In Robert Icke’s explosive reimagining of Sophocles’ Oedipus, ancient tragedy collides with modern politics. Starring the award-winning Mark Strong (Kingsman, A View from the Bridge) as Oedipus and Lesley Manville (The Crown, Ghosts) as Jocasta, this gripping thriller brings secrets from the past crashing into the present.

After acclaimed runs in Amsterdam and Edinburgh, Oedipus arrived at Wyndham’s Theatre for a limited run from 4 October. Directed by visionary Robert Icke, known for his 2015 Oresteia, this timely production offers a fresh take on Greek tragedy that The Guardian calls “thriller-like” in its intensity.
