I’ve recently returned from an incredible holiday aboard Azamara Cruises‘ stunning ship, Azamara Pursuit, and wanted to give you an insight into what she has to offer, as well as share some of my highlights from my trip around the Mediterranean. I hadn’t sailed with Azamara prior to this trip and it’s safe to say this sailing exceeded every expectation I had!
Cruising with Azamara

On-Board Azamara Pursuit
I was on the ship at the same time as my colleague Teresa, both on our own holidays, and neither of us could have asked for a better experience from start to finish! Stepping aboard Azamara Pursuit was like stepping back in time but in the best way possible. We had previously sailed on large vessels with over 3,000 passengers, so we didn’t know what to expect from a smaller ship but we absolutely loved it!
Service was exceptional and all the staff were friendly and welcoming no matter what their roles were, some even getting to know your names, which is just one of the reasons that we would always opt for a small ship now. The whole ship was beautifully and tastefully decorated. There is a fantastic use of highly polished wood and ironwork on the balconies, as opposed to glass, which makes for a timeless and elegant feel everywhere you go.

We stayed in a suite, which had ample space and storage for clothing, and meant that we had complimentary access to the speciality restaurants – Aqualina, a small and intimate Italian that looks out to sea, serving delicious fresh pasta and seafood and Prime C, a steakhouse with one of the best Chateaubriand I have ever tasted and plenty of delicious sides to choose from.
Aside from the speciality restaurants, the food was exceptional everywhere, we also dined in Discoveries, which is the main restaurant and had breakfast in the Windows Café, a buffet style with everything you could wish for, including made-to-order pancakes, waffles, omelettes and smoothies.

The ship never felt crowded and there were never any queues for the bars or restaurants. Even the pool areas never felt too crowded. We loved the Mosaic Café, which serves fresh coffee and delicious sandwiches and cakes on a daily basis in the heart of the ship and sitting in the Living Room bar in the evening, watching the sun go down as the ship set sail, sipping cocktails and listening to live music.
We would watch the Entertainment Team whenever possible and for a small ship they did not disappoint! There was no formal night on this sailing but there was White Night, where everyone wears white and there is the most amazing barbeque and entertainment on the Pool Deck!

Sailing the Mediterranean
During our trip, we were able to visit so many incredible Mediterranean destinations, sailing from Athens to Venice and stopping in Corfu, Santorini, Dubrovnik and more along the way. An Azamara cruise is truly one of the best ways to see the Mediterranean thanks to the cruise line’s focus on late nights and overnight stays in port to truly immerse you in the stunning sights and fascinating culture of each location.
