Where didn’t we race in April?

April Race Recap

Spartans Spring into Race Mode
Spartans really caught a spring in their step all across Europe this April, as our event season started to heat up right before summer. Race courses across Italy, Germany, Hungary and the UK were dominated, PB’s were smashed, and podiums were conquered. From beaches, castles, army bases and through historic cities and towns, our Spartans and Mudders took the start of the 2024 season on and didn’t hold back, racing in all weather to reach their goals.

If you didn’t manage to catch one of our April races then fear not, we have even more epic locations and races to try in May.

What are you waiting for?

Munich, Germany
Sunshine, Spartans, and Smiles Kick Off the German & Austrian Season in Munich!

The Spartan season opener for Germany and Austria roared to life in Munich, bathed in glorious sunshine. Over 5,000 athletes battled it out on the course, pushing their limits and celebrating the Spartan spirit.

The electrifying atmosphere crackled under the floodlights for the Night Sprint, adding another layer of excitement to the weekend.

Adela stole the show, returning to competition just eight months after having a child and claiming a dominant first place for the start of the German & Austrian National Series. A true inspiration for Spartan mothers everywhere!

Gubbio, Italy
Over 5,000 Spartans headed to the heart of Italy to race in the the medieval city of Gubbio, set to the backdrop of epic mountain views and ever changing weather.

From snow, rain and wind, our hearty Spartans battled against the elements to complete Beast and Sprint races, before the weather gods delivered some sun for the Sunday Sprint and Super.

If the weather wasn’t challenging already, our obstacle sequencing on the Beast pushed racers to dig deep to tackle the final 2K with over half the obstacles crammed into the final 2 kilometers.

For our competitive racers, Italy conquered 6 of the podiums and the Beast race was won by Loris Pintarelli, followed by Luca Pescollderungg and Manuel Moriconi. The female Beast winners were Rigerta Kadija in first place, followed by Klara Lokaijikova and Andrea Berquez.

SZOMBATHELY, HUNGARY
In the historic city of Szombathely, once known as Savaria in the Roman Era, thousands of Spartan adults and kids took on the challenge in April. Bathed in sunlight, the city streets provided the backdrop for an exhilarating city race.

The Czech Pro Team celebrated success as their athletes clinched victory in the first Hungary National Series event in 2024, highlighting their dominance on the podium.

SUSSEX, UNITED KINGDOM
Our UK 2024 season kicked off with a whole lot of mud. Mudders were the first in line to receive the Cage Crawl medal, trying out a brand new location and volunteer as guinea pigs for the new 10+ mile and 3-5 mile course formats. Even the Spectators got more mud than they bargained for.

The 2024 season has officially kicked off and there is plenty to look forward to.
