Drumroll, please… it’s time for our Tour of the Week! It’s a new feature for us, but one we’re very excited about. Each week, we’ll be shining the spotlight on a different tour, with the aim of inspiring your next adventure.
This week, we’ve chosen Wild Peru, a recent addition to our small-group tours collection. It’s one of our most active trips (a grade 4 on our pace guide), but it’s jam-packed with wow moments. Like canoeing through the Amazon rainforest while giant river otters glide through the water beside you. And watching birds of prey soaring across the skies above the Andean wetlands. You can even don a wetsuit and slip into the waters of the Pacific Ocean while friendly sea lions play around you.
There’s plenty of opportunity to immerse yourself in Peruvian culture and history in Lima and Cuzco. But the highlight has got to be Machu Picchu. If you’re up for it, you can hike the final portion of the Inca Trail to reach the citadel – it’s 6-7 hours of forested valley views, waterfalls and the most incredible panorama from the ancient Sun Gate. (Don’t worry if you’d rather skip the walk – there’s also the option to take the train up.)
If your interest has been piqued, have a watch of the video below for an idea of the amazing things you could be seeing and doing on Wild Peru. Or, visit our Facebook page for a peek at some more pictures taken from locations visited on this tour. And keep an eye out for next week’s chosen tour online and in your inbox.
