Spotlight on South Africa; Trip of a Lifetime

And it’s a good one, so keep reading!
This week, we’re talking about South Africa: and it’s Travel Coordinator Aneta, who will tell you all about her trip to this wonderful country. She embarked on a 13-day adventure where she spotted the Big 5, hung out with penguins at the beach, trekked on mountains, wine tasted, bungee jumped (not obligatory of course), and hung out with hippos.

This time for Africa

WOW MOMENT
What left you speechless?

“Meeting Jessica the hippo, one of Africa’s most dangerous animals. It was incredible to learn about them, get so close and understand more about the amazing conservation efforts that go into protecting these beautiful, beautiful animals. Don’t go around petting hippos if you do go on safari, though, Jessica was an exception – they really are dangerous!”

INSTAGRAM VS REALITY
Was it what you expected?

I thought I would feel unsafe, but instead, since it was a fairly touristy area, I felt fine (and of course travelling in a group helps!). Plus, we met a lot of locals and other travellers – which I think is the best thing about travelling.

TOP TIPS
What would you suggest to pack?

Definitely don’t forget comfortable shoes as you’ll be on your feet a lot, and closed shoes are better since it gets dusty! Sun cream of course, but also a fleece for the evenings – don’t be fooled, it gets cold in South Africa! I would also recommend a GoPro or similar camera for the safari and diving experience!
