Cruising the Caribbean Aboard Emerald Azzurra

Emerald Azzurra’s smaller size enables you to visit smaller, more remote Caribbean Islands throughout your journey. During my time on board, we docked at Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands and the crew had set up an exclusive section of the beach for the guests with towels, loungers and marina toys free to use.

The captain came to shore with his crew via one of the zodiacs, equipped with champagne for all of us to enjoy in the water whilst surrounded by nothing but lush greenery. It was truly a surreal experience! We then enjoyed a beach barbecue accompanied by a traditional Caribbean Steel Drum Band, before heading back on board and sailing towards Treasure Island for our next stop.

Back on board, even when you aren’t disembarking for the day, taking a dip in the Caribbean’s crystal clear seas couldn’t be any easier thanks to the ship’s Marina Platform. Opening right out onto the water, the yacht experience really comes to life here, as guests are free to use all the marina toys from Seabobs, paddle boards and snorkelling equipment, to a floating platform and aqua trampoline.

Some of my other onboard highlights include the Sky Bar, a 360-degree area that provides panoramic views. Whilst at sea, this is the perfect place to spend an afternoon with a cocktail in hand, and by night, live music performances and sunset views create the most amazing atmosphere.  

Another incredible onboard area is the Aqua Pool and Café. The infinity-style pool provides panoramic views off the back of the yacht, perfect for relaxing and sunbathing in the daytime, and there is also the Aqua Café, where we enjoyed light lunches and snacks throughout the day. One evening, they turned the open-air space here into a banquet-style dining area, where the different courses were placed in the middle of the tables and all of the guests sat together and shared a ‘Family-Style’ dinner, which was a definite highlight for me!
