TAPAS IN MADRID
There’s no better way to get familiar with the capital’s culture than with a tapas tour through the tiny taverns in the city center. You’ll hop from bar to bar, seeking out local snacks and mingling with locals who’ve been fiercely committed to these joints for decades. The next day you’ll be pedaling around the landmarks, taking in the Royal Palace and Retiro PArk, before a feast of specialities at Sobrino de Botín – officially the world’s oldest restaurant, which was founded in 1725. A delicious start – with more to come.
PADDLEBOARDING & PALACES
It’s on to Merida – ˙home to the country’s most impressive Roman ruins – before you arrive in Seville, arguably one of the prettiest cities on the continent. Your viewpoint looks a little different, and you’ll be taking in the skyline – and royal palace – from a SUP on the peaceful Guadalquivir River. Then it’s on to the city’s buzzing nightlife: you’ll find lively drinking dens and tapas bars on the tree-lined cobbles. Let your Pack Leader lead the way…
MOUNTAINS & COAST
After a spot of fortress-gazing and flamenco dancing in Granada you’ll push on to the foothills of the mighty Sierra Nevada mountains. This is a peaceful region of wildflowers and olive groves, where waterfalls tumble down the rock faces of the Andalucian countryside. Next up, it’s more dramatic scenery – as you paddle in a kayak along the coast’s soaring cliffs, you’ll pause at the coves and beaches of La Herradura, cooling off from the day’s activities with a swim in the glittering Mediterranean.
VERMOUTH IN VALENCIA
On to one of Spain’s coolest cities: Valencia. There’ll be a vermouth workshop on route before you visit the city’s market to grab your ingredients for a paella-making masterclass. Settle in for your three-course dinner, washed down with wine and sangria.
BARCELONA BY TUK TUK
Crazy and colorful architecture, golden-sand beaches, and boho neighborhoods combine in the seaside city of Barcelona – this adventure’s last spot. Forget the open top buses – you’re seeing Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia and other spots in a much more fun and sustainable way, from the seat of an electric tuk tuk, of course. The next day? A delicious finale – a private wine tour of the Penedès region, the cradle of sparkling Cava. It’s the perfect accompaniment to a traditional Spanish lunch in the sunshine – toasting to new connections and a lifetime of memories.
Eleven extraordinary days discovering one of Europe’s finest. How’s that for a summer adventure?
