Women have always been explorers. From the pioneers who paved the way to the modern-day adventurers carving out new paths, travel has become a space where women uplift, empower and redefine what’s possible.

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the power of female friendship, the courage to take that first solo trip, and the sisterhood that makes every journey unforgettable. Whether it’s Jessica Nabongo breaking records or single mom Faten Ibrahem leading solo travelers in Egypt’s male-dominated tourism industry, join us in honoring the women making travel a force for connection and change.
These women are reimagining the face of
21st century adventure

Jessica Nabongo didn’t just dream of traveling the world—she made history doing it. As the first black woman to visit every country on the planet, she shares her journey of resilience, courage and breaking stereotypes. Her story proves that no border is too far, no dream too big.

Faten is one of our incredible Pack Leaders—an Egyptian single mom of three who is shaping the way solo travelers experience her home country. In an industry dominated by men, she leads with strength, knowledge, and an open heart: helping our travelers see Egypt through a truly unique lens. Whether it’s sailing on the Nile or uncovering modern-day Cairo, she’s redefining what it means to be a guide.

For generations, adventure was seen as a man’s domain. Not anymore. Edges of Earth explorer Andi Cross explains how a cohort of female rule-breakers from history inspired her in driving a new wave of adventurers; women who are redefining who belongs in the wild.

There’s something magical about the friendships formed on our trips—women who start out as strangers and leave as lifelong travel companions. From chance encounters to deep connections that span continents and multiple time zones, remarkable bonds are made from time on the road together. For example, despite living in the same US city, these four women didn’t know of each others’ existence before embarking on a group solo escape to Argentina. Now, they’re best friends for life back home…

We asked women one simple question: “What does female friendship mean to you?” The response was electric. Our video series struck a global chord, racking up millions of views with coverage in The Female Lead, Cheryl Sandberg’s Lean In, Miss Representation and more.

To take our conversation even further, we sat down with the fabulous Tiffany Boone, who plays Sarabi in the box office hit, Mufasa: The Lion King. We wanted to know: what role does female friendship play in her life? Her answer was an ode to the port that all great girlfriends provide in stormy seas.

And finally a word from Flash Pack’s co-founder and CEO, Radha Vyas: “To all the women who adventure, explore and uplift—this is your time. Happy International Women’s Day!” 💫
