RUNNING FOR CONSERVATION
Go2Africa Takes on the Rhino Peak Challenge

| In September, a group of Go2Africa staff members took part in the annual Rhino Peak Challenge (RPC), trading their safari gear for running shoes. The RPC is a conservation fundraiser held in the Maloti Drakensberg World Heritage Site, where a select group of ambassadors aim to summit the iconic Rhino Peak (3,056m / 10,026ft) while raising funds for wildlife conservation. Since 2016, the RPC has raised nearly US$300,000 for beneficiaries like Wildlife ACT, The Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT), and EKZNW.
Each ambassador completes the 21km (13mi) course at their own pace – some aiming for fast times while others take 4 to 9 hours. However, the primary focus remains fundraising. Go2Africa’s team raised nearly US$21,000 through the RPC, with an additional US$11,450 from a company-hosted fundraiser. All funds will support EWT, a key Go2Africa partner in wildlife conservation. |
