USA Travel Tip #4: Visiting the USA –Tips for every Traveler

- It’s not stressed often enough, this is your vacation, smile and say thank you, and you’ll be surprised how far it goes.
- Take the time to learn the layout of each city you land in. It’s always a great idea to pick up a hard copy map in case your battery dies.
- Tipping – although most travelers who’ve done any degree of research will probably be aware, this is an important part of the culture in the USA. Make sure to tip for good service, keep some single dollar bills on hand for bell-boys, doormen and baristas.
- Obey the rules of the road – Simple things such as coming to a complete stop at traffic lights, alternate parking and turning on a light. Each state has their own traffic laws, so it pays to read up a little before you drive.
- Smoking – Smoking is taken very seriously in the US, some of the strictest international laws exist here. No smoking indoors, beaches, public parks & private residences.
- Always carry a full color print version of your passport where possible. Most places will accept your foreign driver’s license or ID, but it never hurts to have a copy of your passport just in case you’re stopped.
- Turn off your Mobile Date – you’d be surprises how many people forget to do this, but it will prove costly. Roaming is very expensive, utilize Wi-Fi where possible to get online.
