The Leeway

Mt. Tremper, NY, USA

The Leeway isn’t entirely new: opened as a motel in the 1950s, this creekside property got a kitschy makeover in 2004 by Kate Pierson, frontwoman of the B-52s. After extensive renovations at the hands of its new owners, it was reborn as a boutique inn with details carefully chosen to help Brooklynites feel right at home.

Blue Apple Beach

Cartagena, Colombia

Stylish and sustainable, Blue Apple Beach is an easy way to enjoy the idyllic white sand beaches of Tierra Bomba island. This boutique hotel takes inspiration from beach clubs in the south of France, where the owner used to live: rosé flows freely and DJs spin afro-latino beats at the chic open-air restaurant and bar.

Presulis Hideaway

Völs am Schlern, Italy

Ideally located between Bolzano and the Swiss Alps, Presulis Hideaway Apartments & Restaurant is peaceful, sophisticated, and surrounded by South Tyrol’s beautiful landscapes. It’s the passion project of a local couple who turned an old farmhouse into an elegant boutique hotel focused on the art of “lo struscio,” or slow living.

La Manufacture Royale de Lectoure

Lectoure, France

Thanks to its location on the famous Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage route, this abandoned tannery in a remote village was discovered by a pair of Parisians who spent four years overseeing its transformation into the elegant La Manufacture Royale de Lectoure. The five chic hotel rooms are sophisticated yet subtle.

Amethyst Selene

Paleros, Greece

Sophisticated but understated, with sweeping views of the Ionian Sea, Amethyst Selene is located in a quiet village on the western coast of Greece. It takes its name from a gemstone known for its calming and healing properties, which is fitting: the architecture boasts clean lines, geometric shapes, and organic materials.

Szczawnica Park Resort & Spa

Szczawnica, Poland

Szczawnica Park’s decorative facade mirrors the Alpine-inspired architecture of its surroundings, one of the oldest spa resorts in Poland. Like other hotels in the area, it’s built around naturally occurring mineral springs. But unlike its quaint 19th-century counterparts, Szczawnica Park is modern and sprawling in scope.

Hotelito At MUSA

Loma Bonita, Mexico

In Loma Bonita, where the rugged Sierra Madre mountains meet the Pacific, a pair of creative entrepreneurs founded the Modern Utopian Society of Adventurers, a design-focused hospitality project. One of the first elements completed: the thirteen tropical modernist beachfront rooms that make up Hotelito at MUSA.
