You remember when we looked at a lot of small hotels in southern and northern Japan. A few new hotels worthy of those lists are these modern masterpieces: Kikka in Nagasaki, Soneka in Hokkaido, and L’isola the Bird in Kumamoto.
Speaking of birds, The Bird in Bath is just one of many delightful UK hotels and inns with animals in their names, including The Pig in the Wall in Southampton, The Bonnie Badger in Gullane, and Hare and Hounds in Newbury.
