Oops, Delta did it again.
Months after causing a national uproar by proposing drastic changes to earning status and using lounges β changes so unpopular the airlineβs CEO had to apologize and roll them back β Delta followed up with the unthinkable:
Annual fees on nearly all of the airlineβs Amex cards are going up β¦ by as much as $100 a year. Yes, really.
This is what banks and airlines do, of course. Itβs the second hike in just over four years. But the timing on this one is not particularly good.
Now, itβs not all bad news. Existing cardholders wonβt pay higher fees for at least a few months β and maybe even another full year. The airline improved some existing benefits and added some new money-saving perks.
But for the second time in just a few months, Delta just gave some of its best customers another reason to consider chopping up their cards. Should you, too?
Check out our top story on whatβs changing so you can decide for yourself.
